Parish School of Religion
Our Parish School of Religion serves children ages 4 through 5th grade. Sessions are offered on Sunday mornings from 9:45 a.m.-11:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. & 2:30 p.m.-3:45 p.m. Registration for PSR takes place on Sundays during the month of August.
Baptism Class for Older Children
This class is held on a need basis for children ages 6 and older. It covers the basic teachings of the Church on baptism and shows the children what will happen at their baptism. A parent must attend with their child.
First Reconciliation/First Communion Preparation
The Archdiocese's guidelines for the reception of First Reconciliation/First Communion are two years of regular Religious Education with an 80% attendance record and special sessions preparing the children for the reception of these two sacraments. The special sessions for First Reconciliation takes place in October with the reception of the sacrament being on the first Saturday of November. The special sessions for First Communion are held in February with the First Communion Masses in May. A child must be at least seven years old with proof of baptism on file at the church's office.
The Archdiocese requires three years of regular religious education, as well as special sessions in the third year, for a young person to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Candidates are normally confirmed in their 10th grade year of high school. To fulfill these requirements, a teen must attend EDGE in their 8th grade year of middle school and Life Teen in their 9th and 10th grade years of high school with an 80% attendance record. Please register in the parish office in September. Proof of baptism must be on file at the church office.
EDGE is our middle school ministry that meets on Sunday nights through the school year from 2:30 to 4 p.m.
Life Teen Ministry
Life Teen is our high school ministry and meets on Wednesday nights through the school year from 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. Each year, there is a Life Teen Retreat one weekend in October and the Steubenville Atlanta Weekend in July among other activities and service projects.
Rites of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
The RCIA ministry assists in the discernment process of those who are considering becoming a part of the Catholic Church. It seeks to inform participants of the teachings of the Catholic Church while fostering their formation in the faith.
Parish Bible Study
There are several opportunities for adult bible study within the parish: Bible Study Group: Sundays from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Women's Bible Study: Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Little Rock Bible Study: Wednesdays from 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. Men's Bible Study: Saturdays from 7:30 a.m.-8:30 a.m.
